Big Picture Builders, LLC, and the “Folly” project is fiscally sponsored by the FLUX Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging people in designing and building large-scale public art as a catalyst for education. Contributions made to FLUX for Big Picture Builders, LLC, are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Please contact to arrange dropoff, or stop by our shop during build hours. Check out our pinterest board to get a feel for our aesthetic! We’re happy to incorporate all kinds of things that fit with our theme, and we especially need:

  • Old fences! We go through an incredible amount of salvaged wood cladding The Folly

  • Lumber and plywood, especially 2x12s (but no pressure-treated wood, please)

  • Large pieces of fabric (old sheets are perfect) in neutral, earth, and jewel tones

  • Lace in any size or color

  • Giclee printing for one of our interior rooms

  • Painted land/seascapes or portraits, and photographs

  • Floor pillows or cushions

  • Chandeliers and other antique-y/fancy light fixtures

  • A love seat and a couple comfy wingback chairs

  • Nautical bits and bobs, including things like old fishing tackle

  • Old books for the library, especially things like short stories and feminist poetry :P

  • Rugs of any kind, to help keep the dust down

  • Twine and rope, especially natural fibers

  • Neon signs / kitchsy signs for the Fish As Chips shop

  • A dart board / other bar games

  • Coasters from your favorite brewery

  • Rusted / vintage-looking tools and workshop paraphernalia (broken ok)
